The SL 72 arrived in 1972 as a running shoe and is considerably slimmer than a Samba or a Spezial. The upper is nylon with suede overlays, with the characteristic T-toe at the front. The 3-Stripes and heel tab are leather, in Maroon against an off white base. Underneath sits a low-profile EVA midsole, which keeps it light and close to the ground.
