Ripstop gets its name from the weave: stronger threads run through the fabric in a grid so a small tear cannot spread. That makes it a sensible choice for a jacket meant to be worn daily. Inside there is Primaloft filling; outside, a water-repellent zip and two set-in welt pockets. The cords at the hem let you decide how long the jacket sits.
